Structure

The Business Intelligence Competency Center (BICC), led by UIT, serves as the central hub and supports the Business Intelligence Center of Excellence (BICOE). Supporting a BI community/the BICOE facilitates effective decision-making across campus by providing high-quality data as well as BI tools, services, and expertise. Our community consists of different users across campus whom we provide data and analysis to via Webi and Tableau.

Business Intelligence Center of Excellence (BICOE)

The BICOE is the umbrella name for all BI activities that occur throughout campus, the sole purpose being a promotion of collaboration between IT and business that is required of any successful BI initiative. 

Business Intelligence Competency Center (BICC)

The BICC is the UIT directed-organization that supports the BICOE.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Establishment of BI standards
  2. Data architecture standards
  3. Single source of truth and data warehousing
  4. Data quality standards and business process improvements
  5. Metadata and master data management
  6. Systems administration
