Structure

The Data Competency Center (DataCC), led by UIT, serves as the central hub and supports the Data Management and Analytics (DM&A) community. Supporting this community facilitates effective decision-making across campus by providing high-quality data as well as DM&A tools, services, and expertise. Our community consists of different users across campus whom we provide data and analysis to via Webi, Collibra, and Tableau.

Data Center of Excellence (DataCOE)

The DataCOE is the umbrella name for all data management or analytic activities that occur throughout campus, the sole purpose being a promotion of collaboration between IT and business that is required of any successful data initiative. 

Data Competency Center (DataCC)

The DataCC is the UIT directed-organization that supports the DataCOE.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Establishment of data management and governance standards
  2. Data architecture standards
  3. Single source of truth and data warehousing
  4. Data quality standards and business process improvements
  5. Metadata and master data management
  6. Systems administration
